Hello, my name is David Le Moal, and I am the creator of Photo Historic Travels. The mission of this brand is to showcase my travel experiences through artistic photography, with a particular focus on history. While historical travel (with all the word represents) is my main focus, I intend to showcase different types of experiences to prove that everywhere has something interesting to see.
Facts About Me
I first became interested in geography/dreamed about traveling at the age of five after being assigned a coloring book about Christmases in other countries in Kindergarten. I became interested in history the following year when I developed a fascination with ocean liners. This all culminated with my receiving an Undergraduate Degree in History and a Graduate Degree in Public History (which refers to museum/archival work). I currently work in the museum field (no corporate job this time), where I primarily give guided tours to visitors but have done everything from transcribing old legal documents to washing Paw Paw fruit. - Was born in Florida but lived in Virginia for most of my life
- Been a YouTuber since 2011 with my old YouTube Channel (it’s called theLEMproduction)
- Have owned my current camera (Nikon D3200) since Christmas 2013
- Have traveled internationally to Mexico (Cancun), and Bulgaria, Macedonia, and Greece (for a study abroad program)
- Have only been to 22 of the 50 states so far
Goals For Photo Historic Travels
Through the Photo Historic Travels brand, I use images to answer why you should visit various travel destinations. I hope my photographs and film can show all the things someone might find in their own area and give them another chance. Fundamentally, I believe everywhere is worth exploring and my wish is to inspire your own journey to explore new destinations.
Travel Goals
I have always wanted to explore every corner of the following countries: The United States of America, Italy, Japan, France, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Germany. In addition, I would love to see all the other countries of Europe, Canada, Egypt, Ethiopia, and Tibet. But first, I intend to visit these places with Photo Historic Travels…
- Visit Tangier Island
- Stay at the Omni Homstead Resort in Hot Springs, VA
- Visit New Bern NC, Charleston SC, Savannah GA, St. Augustine FL, Annapolis MD, & New Castle DE
- Explore areas of Florida and New York I have yet to visit
- Visit the Grand Canyon National Park
- Visit the RMS Queen Mary
- Finish all the states but especially: Kentucky, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire, Montana, Utah, New Mexico, Oregon
- Finish visiting all of the Presidential Homes and Libraries [I have seen 25 so far]
While the picture is several years out of date, my focus is on the images I create and the places I go. While in the future I might be more front facing if that’s what audiences want, I will never make my brand about myself. Besides I’m not much of a selfie guy and I still look pretty much like that anyway.
